Jan Kolář
Director, screenwriter and editor. A graduate of directing and screenwriting at Tomas Bata University in Zlín, who has been, since his studies, mainly involved in the creation of commercials. He won the prize for the best film and the prize for the best director at the 48hour Prague Project 2013 festival. His spot (directed by him) “Už i medvědi vědí” was nominated for the award Zlatá Pecka 2018. He created commercials for brands such as Škoda auto, Stihl or for universities in Brno. Besides that, he gained experience in assistant positions in shooting for Netflix. In the vast majority of spots, he tries to bring a certain invention and participates in the creative process from the very beginning of a work. His commercials are characterized by a distinctive style and sense of humor. He clings to craftsmanship, modern editing and tries to make the most of classic film tricks. Children and animals are not an obstacle for him.
